Mucem and the Cosquer Cave

The MUCEM, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations, is well worth a visit and also features various exhibitions that extend all the way to Fort Saint Jean, connected by a footbridge. Stunning views of the Old Port are guaranteed, and there’s direct access to the Panier district—our very own Marseille version of Montmartre!

We highly recommend ending your visit with a tour of the replica of the Cosquer Cave, which opened in June 2022, just 100 meters from the MUCEM (book your tickets online for €19 per adult). The cave was discovered 37 meters underground in the Calanques, and you’ll be guided through a 35-minute immersive prehistoric exploration!
