Tourism began to take off in Le Brusc at the end of World War I. As the fishing industry gradually declined, Le Brusc became a hub for residential living, seaside tourism, and recreational boating. The sculptor Paul Landowski, in particular, settled there in 1927 and built a studio where he would create a significant portion of his work.
